French Library

The 53 Marlborough Street and 300 Berkeley Street buildings located in Back Bay have been home to the French Library since the late 1940s. After many successful years of hosting programs and housing a vast library for its members, J.L. Dunn was asked to combine and renovate the buildings to modernize and revitalize the Library’s home. Among many of the complex structural elements was a 5-story, 9-stop elevator shaft which our team erected in the center of the two properties. Designed to be a mix of original details and modern design elements, the space includes plaster crown molding, original wood floor banding, new stainless kitchen counters, and high-gloss cabinetry.
